Cannabidiol oil may prove to be an effective alternative to pharmaceutical medications, according to a 2016 case report by the National Center for Biotechnology Information, which refers to clinical data supporting the use of cannabidiol oil (CBD) as possibly a safe treatment for improving sleep with a patient with posttraumatic stress disorder.
